Horses for Adoption

A careful match matters

Adoption begins with the horse in front of us.

Day Dreams Farm is a volunteer-led equine rescue and rehabilitation farm in Marine City, Michigan. The farm takes in horses, mules, and donkeys who need safety, care, and time to heal. When a horse is ready for a home, adoption is approached as a partnership, not a quick handoff.

Every horse arrives with a different history. Some are ready for a new routine sooner than others. Some need ongoing consideration around care, training, turnout, or the kind of person who can best support them. The goal is to understand those needs clearly, then look for a home that can meet them with patience and consistency.

For an adopter, that means an honest conversation from the start. You do not need to have every answer in place before reaching out. You do need to be ready to share what experience you have, what your day-to-day horse care looks like, and what you hope a partnership with a horse will become.
